Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle as part of efforts to enhance administrative efficiency in the state.

The changes were announced during the State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held on Monday at the Government House in Abakaliki.

Nwifuru urged members of the council to reflect on their contributions so far and recommit to delivering on the administration’s developmental goals.

Under the new arrangement, Jude Chikadibia Okpor, who previously served as commissioner for information and state orientation, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Rural Development.

Aikeuwa Omebeh, former commissioner for rural development, now takes charge of the Ministry of Information and State Orientation.

Paul Awo Nwobasi, who served as commissioner for education (primary and secondary), has been assigned to the Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Donatus Ilang, previously in charge of border peace and conflict resolution, is now the new commissioner for education (primary and secondary).

Nwifuru charged the reassigned commissioners to inject renewed energy into their new roles and deliver measurable outcomes for the people of the state.
