FCT, Abuja – The chaos broke out at the coalition meeting of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and others.

Legit.ng recalls that Atiku and Obi are both attending the National Political Consultative Group (North) event holding at the Abuja Continental Hotel at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It was gathered that the coalition meeting was briefly disrupted following a disagreement over representation for Jigawa State.

The delegates from Jigawa State disrupted the proceedings on Sunday, May 25, 2025. As reported by The Punch, pandemonium stated when former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, announced a delegate to speak for the state. Several Jigawa delegates stormed the stage in protest, blocking the individual from speaking and insisting they would not be represented by those named. Police operatives, DSS, and private guards, quickly formed a protective barrier around key figures such as Atiku, Amaechi, and others.

Calm was later restored after several minutes of appeals after the confrontation escalated. Mustapha, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, along with another delegate, were chosen to speak on behalf of the state.
